hey everyone !So my mom’s been feeling really down lately and i’m really hoping you guys can help me try to make her feel better.
She cosplays the cabbage merchant from avatar and she’s often self conscious about leaving the hotel room at cons, so i’m hoping you can help me make her popular on tumblr. she’s really cute and sweet and she worked so hard on this cosplay! she even carries around real cabbages please give her love ok

So decided to show how my wings are attached to the costume. theres no wire coat hanger as a brace, No ribbon ties at your armpits, and no corset method! But what you will need is a bra with removable straps and clear bra straps!

Lets get started!

1) & 2) Okay! so you have your bra! Remove the straps from the bra! that simple!

3) Now take your straps and adjust them to your preference. Now i got mine from Joann craft and Fabric for $6 but you can basically find them anywhere. preferably go for the plain ones for this method.

4) Now hook the straps to the bra loops in the front but leave the back for now a moment!

5) Now on the back of my wing base, i have 3 short strips of ribbon tacked down 3 side by side. you need these for the back portion of the straps.

6) thread the straps through the ribbon loops and clip the bra in place.

7) now just clasp on your bra! Preferably have a friend help you shimmy into it and then adjust the wings. if theyre too high or low just pull them up or down gently until theyre at the height you want and theyre straightened out.

8) Put on your blouse and once again, preferably have a friend help you out otherwise your arms look like chicken wings and they will cramp!

And there you have it!! comfy wings without that annoying harness! Happy cosplaying loves!

and for the wings, i followed this tutorial —-> http://flying-fox.deviantart.com/art/Fantasy-Film-Wing-Tutorial-335885504

OKAY NO EVERYONE HOLD YOUR HORSES HAVE I GOT SOME GREAT SHIT FOR YOU!!

you see these binders? They may not look much, but these fucking things bind like the CHAINS OF HELL THEMSELVES. I’ve got HUGE tits, up in the DD range, but this simple little binder works some goddamn MAGIC on them. It’s comfortable, it binds, it provides perfect support and whatever the hell else.

These are perfect for both trans* and crossplay-related purposes! What’s the catch though, right? They’re probably super expensive?

HOW DOES $8.28 WITH FREE SHIPPING SOUND???

i use this binder and as a trans boy i can say first hand that they work really well and i would highly recommend them if you are short on cash and need a good binder. i’m about a D cup and these make me look virtually flat.

Signal boost!

cowbuttcrunchies:

pattern-making tip for cosplayers: when you know how a certain piece needs to look on your body, but aren’t sure how to pattern it out on fabric, pattern it on yourself first!
I use masking tape (with sheets of plasticwrap under, so I’m not sticking tape to my skin) to create a fitted body double that can get drawn all over. once it looks how I want it to, on me, I cut it off with a pair of scissors and discard everything but my pattern pieces, which can be either used or cut apart along where you’d want seam lines to go in order to make flat pieces. retrace onto some pattern/tracing/butcher paper and there’s your pattern.

Another short tutorial thanks to the Millenia project. As you can see, this wig was once straight (aside from the slight waves due to the transport). For curling usually a curling iron or hair rollers/curlers work fine, but what if you have neither of them nor to few of your curlers? What if you have too much hair and it just rolls off again? The easiest and cheapest way is getting yourself some tinfoil and cut/rip it into pieces. I usually have it in a size of a DIN A 4 sheet of paper. After that I wrap them a little in the shape of a papillote curler and then I’m rolling the hair up. All you have to do after that is boil water and pour it over the part you want to curl. The amount of water you need depends on the amount and length of hair. Better use too much than too less and always check beforehand if your wig is heat resistant. More over please watch your hands. If you just have a bathtub and nothing matching to put your wighead on without the danger of everything falling down, go outside (garden or balcony) and do it there, but please make sure you wear pants and shoes. You don’t want the water to come into contact with your skin! After pouring the water over the wig, let it dry a little. If you don’t work in a shower/bathtub, have a towel for putting it underneath the wig while drying. Water will be dripping like crazy. You don’t have to wait until the wig is completely dry for removing the tinfoil. After all the important process is bending the plastic fiber by heat and the wig will usually cool down rather quickly. I recommend not brushing through it unless you want a really, really wavy and crazy (almost messy) volume. If you want your curls to stay as individual streaks, just let them dry, brush through them with your fingers instead of a comb and fix them with a little hairspray. If you wonder why the color of my wig changed, that’s nothing to worry about. Brighter colors turn a little darker when they are wet. It was perfectly like before when it was dry.
